5 Steps to Answered Prayers

Get Started.

Learning how to pray effectively is one of the most important things believers can ever do in their Christian walk.

God loves you. He has already blessed, healed, and prospered you. “It’s not a matter of trying to get God to move in your life; it’s a matter of you moving over into agreement with Him and receiving what He has already provided.” – Andrew Wommack

Our prayer life should be based and built upon the Word of God, with no unbelief.

This is the secret to answered prayer!

As we believe, decree, pray and apply the Word of God into our situations, we start to experience our breakthroughs.

Step 1: Believe.

 

  • Daily speak your scriptures out loud to your situation.
  • Keep your words in line with God’s promise.
  • Words are super-powerful! God created everything by speaking it into being. …then God said: “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1: 3.
  • God’s Word spoken daily is good medicine to your body and situation. Prov. 4: 20-22

Step 2: Speak

 

  • Keep your words in line with God’s promises over your situation.
  • Speaking the Word of God, out loud, changes the atmosphere around you.
  • The spoken word is super-powerful and has the power to breathe life into any deathly situation.
  • It is life to your spirit, soul, body, and every area of your life.

Isaiah 55:11
11 “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

 

Step 3: Pray

 

  • Great change starts with daily prayer.
  • Do a quick spiritual detox.
  • Forgive who you need to forgive, including yourself.
  • Ask God to forgive you of all doubt, fear, and unbelief. (Especially unbelief!).
  • Rebuke the devil and command him to take his hand off your healing and breakthrough in the name of Jesus.
  • Pray, ask, and thank God for your healing and breakthrough in Jesus’ name.
  • Take your scriptures and pray them back to God.
  • Here’s an easy example: “Father God, I thank you that your word says in Phil 4:19 that you will meet all my needs according to your glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”

John 16:23–24
23 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

Matthew 7–8
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Mark 11:24
24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Step 4: Learn

 

  • Keep studying and learning what God’s word says about you and your identity in Christ.
  • Knowing that God has already answered your prayers because he loves you, is HUGE!
  • Spend time in God’s word to build your faith.
  • Listen to testimonies and teachings on how the supernatural power of prayer changes lives for the good.

Step 5: Apply

 

Be Positive in Your Thinking

  • Let every thought affirm that you have what you asked for.
  • After you pray in faith according to God’s Word, never permit a picture of failure to remain in your mind.
  • Once you’ve prayed and asked God for something, never doubt that you have the answer.
  • If doubts persist, rebuke them.
  • Doubt is from the devil and his mission is to rob, steal and destroy you.
  • Get your mind on the answer through the Word.
  • The Bible says, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). Doubt is from the devil.

Guard Your Mind

  • Guard against every evil thought that comes into your mind to try to make you doubt God’s Word.
  • To receive answers to your prayers, you must eradicate every image, suggestion, vision, and all other thoughts that do not build your faith.
  • Thoughts are governed by observation, association, and teaching.
  • The Bible says we are to cast down every imagination that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:5).
  • That’s why you should avoid all places, people, and things that do not support your affirmation that God has answered your prayer.

Summary.

 

Many people are thinking and focused on the wrong things.  They’re defeated in life as a result of this incorrect thinking.

Guard against every evil thought and focus only on those things, which affirm that God has heard and answered your prayers. If you will do that, you will be cooperating with God in faith.

As you stand your ground based on God’s Word, firm in the faith, your faith will see you through to victory!

To receive answers to your prayers, remember to:

  • Decide what you want from God,
  • Find scriptures for what you need,
  • Ask God for those things, and when you pray,
  • Believe that you receive them!

Faithfully following these steps will move you along the path to answered prayer.

The Word of God is powerful and mighty.  In Scripture, we see God’s principle of a declaration at work.

The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.  Proverbs 10:22

Proclaim these 7 powerful statements aloud with faith and belief!

  1. May the Lord do for me this year what He did for Issac.
  2. I dwell in the complete Shalom and blessings of God.
  3. I stand upon the Word of God.
  4. I proclaim this Kingdom reality over my life and business.
  5. The Lord will increase me x1000 and bless me abundantly.
  6. The angel of God goes before me and brings me great success.
  7. I will meditate on these things and then proclaim aloud in Jesus’ mighty name.  Amen.

You have the keys to unleash the power of life and death into your world.

The incredible truth is you already have the authority to rule and reign on earth.  However, as a Christian, you have the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit operating within you to conquer darkness and perform all kinds of fantastic miracles.

God’s Word clearly states:

  • We have been created in God’s image, with God-given authority to rule and reign on earth.  Genesis 1:26-28
  • The same Spirit of God, that raised Jesus from the dead,  lives in you.  Romans 8:11

God’s desire is for you to live a victorious life and He has given you everything you need in Christ to overcome this world.

God’s Word spoken turns your battles into victories.

He loves you so much that He has given you the authority and power to be able to declare His word over your life and change the terrible situations you are facing into supernatural success stories. 

As you speak God’s Word into your challenges, both the spiritual and physical worlds shift and align to bring about your victories.

  1. the blind see,
    • you see opportunities in adversity.
  2. the lame walk,
    • you are able to get up and not give up.
  3. the lepers are cleansed,
    • your outlook on life clears as you start to replace lies and shame, with truth and confidence.
  4. the deaf hear,
    • as you start to tune into God’s voice and follow it, your victories outweigh your losses.
  5. the dead are raised,
    • what you thought was a lost cause, is given new life.
  6. the poor have the gospel preached to them,
    • as you share and release the Word of God, battles turn into victories for you and others.

A Quick Summary.

  • Find your “Power Scriptures”.
  • Start to declare them over your life and into your situations.
  • Be fully persuaded that God will do what He promised in His Word.

And, remember as Corrie Ten Boom once said, Jesus did it. The Bible says it. I believe it. And that settles it.

Helping Others

Why is it important to help and serve others?

Helping others is fun, fulfilling, and you get to make a big impact in the lives of others.

When you stop to help, you literally shift the negative atmosphere around the person from despair to hope.

Your kindness changes their environment into positive energy which joy, energy, and gives them courage and strength to live.

As your love and random acts of kindness releases heaven into the earth, you, together with God make our world a better place to live in.

Wherever you go, you carry an atmosphere of hope and joy which keeps attracting more blessings, not only for the other person but for you too!

Enter… the Snowball Effect.

  • Your small acts of kindness, together with God’s power, slowly but surely start to impact and influence everyone around you.
  • They in turn start to help others.
  • Before long, your sphere of positive influence gets bigger and bigger.

As your supernatural encounters increase, every day becomes a “You can’t believe what amazing thing happened today!”

How does helping others release supernatural encounters?

When we partner with God, His dunamis (dynamite) power is released in our lives.

Not only that, but God also gives us everything we need to do the job as it is written in 2 Peter1:3…

“By God’s divine (dunamis) power, He has given us everything we need for living a godly life.”

What does Jesus say about helping others?

Jesus gives us a few tips in Matthew 25:35-40 on what happens when we serve and love others:

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.

  • 35 For I was hungry, and you fed me.
  • I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink.
  • I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.
  • 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing.
  • I was sick, and you cared for me.
  • I was in prison, and you visited me.’

37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?

38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality?  Or naked and give you clothing?

39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,a] you were doing it to me!’

So not only do you inherit the Kingdom of God but when you help others, are kind to them, and love them, you are actually helping, being kind, and loving Jesus.

This is where the supernatural power and encounters are experienced!

Is it easy helping others?

It’s so exciting when you see and treat all people like they are Jesus.  Miracles start to happen.

Is it tough in the beginning? Yes.

Is it easy? No.  Not for everyone.

Can you do it in your own strength continuously without burning out?  No.

But the more you do it with the power of God helping you, the easier it becomes.

God loves to partner with you to make our world a better place.

He gets so excited when he sees your acts of kindness.  He releases more favor, strength, and power to enable you to help and serve others.

And best of all, He shows and gives us fresh ideas about how we can make a difference in each other’s lives and His resources are endless!

Here are a few easy and practical ways to help others.

You don’t have to be wealthy, talented, or very successful to do any of these acts to make a difference to someone’s world.

  1. “For I was hungry, and you fed me”
    • Surprise your neighbor, a petrol attendant, or a person who’s just been retrenched with a meal or a few bags of groceries.
  2. “I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink.”
    • There are loads of folk wearing masks who are struggling to breathe.
    • Grab a bottle of water, encourage them to take a seat, and have a sip of water.
  3. “I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. “
    • Loneliness is all around us.  Forced isolation does not help.
    • Until lockdown is over and you can invite folk to share a cuppa or a meal, greet a stranger, start a conversation in your queue, and share a little laugh.
  4. “I was naked, and you gave me clothing.”
    • It’s not just the poor that need help.  Retrenchments, foreclosures, and business losses are all around us.
    • Ask the Holy Spirit to show you, how you can help those who have just lost their work, cars, or homes.
  5. I was sick, and you cared for me.
    • From sadness to terminal illness, everyone needs healing.
    • Listen to their story.  You will soon discover where the needs are, which areas you can help with, or what you can pray for.
  6. “I was in prison, and you visited me.”
    • Unforgiveness is a killer and we place ourselves and others in a prison by not forgiving each other.
    • Be slow to take offense, quick to forgive, and patient with those who are struggling to do so.

You are God’s’ Secret Agent that others need.

Everyone is attracted to a life overflowing with love and kindness.  They just do not always admit it.

As you start lifting others up, God releases power to help you become the secret agent in shifting negative into positive atmospheres wherever you go.
