Salvation

What is Salvation?

Salvation, through Jesus Christ, is the biggest miracle you will ever experience in your life!

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17

What Must I Do to Get Saved?

Step 1: Come to Jesus

… just the way you are. You don’t have to “clean up your act” or think that “you are not good enough” to come to Jesus.  Jesus invites us to come and talk with Him with all our imperfections, flaws, and insecurities.

He prays for your salvation constantly and looks forward to your encounter with Him.

25 Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save[a] those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.  Hebrews 7:25

Step 2: Repent

Repent means to change your mind and turnaround from the way you used to live.

Recognize and let God know that you are sorry for how your sin has separated you from Him and the abundant life Jesus came to give you.

Then make a conscience decision to turnaround, change your mindset, and go the other way.

19 Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.  Acts 3:19

The great news is that you become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus through salvation and repentance. 2 Corinthians 5:21.

Righteousness simply means to be in right standing with God or reconciled to God.

Step 3: Believe

Trust God to not only take away and forgive you of your sin (Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved—Acts 4:12 NIV), but to help you live a victorious life and to become more like Jesus every day.

10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. 11 As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” Romans 10:10-11

Take God at His Word. Believe the promises in His Word. It is just that simple.

Step 4: Confess

Salvation is a gift from God and comes through believing in Jesus and Jesus alone. To believe in your heart and openly declare that Jesus is your Lord and Savior is a vital part of your salvation.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.  John 14:6

32 “Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

The Prayer of Salvation.

That’s how easy it is to get saved and become a child of God.  God made it easy and uncomplicated because it is His desire to see everyone saved. 1 Tim 2:4

We’d love to pray the prayer of salvation with you.  Pray it out loud and believe it with your heart.

Dear God,

I acknowledge that the separation between us is because of my sin.  I confess that I have sinned and have fallen short of Your glory.

I thank you that You sent Your Son, Jesus to pay the price for my sin.  I believe that He died on the Cross of Calvary for me. I believe that you raised Him from the dead.

I am sorry for my sins and I ask You to forgive and cleanse me. I want to turn away from everything the Bible calls sin and receive You as my Lord, Master, and Saviour.

Help me to love, serve and obey You for the rest of my life.

In Jesus’ Name, I pray.  Amen.

What to do after I get saved?

Once you have accepted Jesus into your life, your entire position in God’s kingdom changes…

  • you are no longer a sinner, but a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17),
  • an heir of God (Romans 8:17).
  • God loves you unconditionally and wants to bless you.
  • He is forever on your side (Romans 8:31)
  • He has declared that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

It is very important for you to continue hearing about Jesus, your new identity in Him, and how to enjoy and share all the blessings that He purchased at the cross for you to enjoy.
